A simple way to organize the records
1. Build a timeline
List each evaluation, progress update, and IEP by date so you can see which information is current and what changed between reviews.
2. Capture the report's own language
Note the stated purpose, key findings, and recommendations without trying to replace the report author's interpretation.
3. Compare the records with the current IEP
Mark where documented needs, present levels, goals, and supports appear connected and where you need clarification.
4. Create a question list
Group questions by report or topic so the school team can identify who is best positioned to answer each one.
